Le flot culturel joins the Hubblo catalogue

Le flot culturel: Virtual reality experience

The project LE FLOT CULTUREL is a traveling and immersive virtual reality experience by FAB at Télé-Québec. It invites the general public to dive into the world of Québec culture through four symbolic settings. Whether in a general store or a boreal forest, users are invited to interact with a playful environment to discover and experience FAB’s featured content.

An immersive journey by FAB at Télé-Québec.

Le flot culturel invites participants to immerse themselves in an allegorical experience that allows them to experience Québec of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Rather than simply viewing content, the experience offers a true journey, with each stage revealing unique facets of Québec culture.

The narrative thread: poetic and innovative navigation

The experience revolves around a central metaphor: the narrative thread. Visible and tangible in every scene, this thread connects the stories and environments. By finding and grasping it, users can move from one location or story to another. This mechanism provides a fluid and natural alternative to the teleportation commonly used in virtual reality. The thread also symbolizes the continuity and interconnectedness of the stories that make up Québec culture.

FAB’s content is skillfully integrated into the objects found throughout each environment, making its discovery interactive and immersive. Every object tells a story:

  • Turning on an old television reveals a report about Cara Carmina’s passion for Frida Kahlo.
  • Interacting with an ATM triggers a song by Grim Skunk.
  • Placing the needle on a turntable activates a documentary about Antonine Maillet.
  • Activating a sewing machine immerses participants in the world of Winifred Nungak, an Innu fashion designer.
  • Each interaction is designed to be intuitive, engaging, and enriching, transforming cultural discovery into a personal and immersive experience.

By integrating content directly into the environments, each element becomes a gateway to a new story, celebrating the richness of Québec culture through an innovative and memorable technological experience.
