ABOUT JACQUES HURTUBISE Jacques Hurtubise was born in Montreal, Quebec, in February 1939. Freshly graduated from the Montreal School of Fine Arts in 1960, he moved to New York, where he discovered American Abstract Expressionism, a movement he would brilliantly integrate into his own artistic language. Through his large-scale paintings, screen printing, and digital printmaking, Hurtubise distinguished himself with the originality of his approach, the complexity of his compositions, and his masterful use of color. Over five decades, his bold and distinctive body of work was exhibited across Canada, the United States, and Europe. Jacques Hurtubise passed away in December 2014 in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.

ABOUT HIPPIE HOURRAH Hippie Hourrah is a neo-psychedelic band from Montreal made up of Cédric Marinelli, Miles Dupire-Gagnon, and Gabriel Lambert. Drawing from previous projects like Anemone, Elephant Stone, and Les Marinellis, the trio has crafted a vibrant blend of garage, pop, and psych rock. They’ve performed across Quebec, Canada, and Europe, with standout appearances at the Francos de Montréal, Focus Wales, and Transmusicales de Rennes. Their 2022 live session with KEXP-FM marked a rare honour for a Quebec band. Following their 2020 debut, they released Exposition individuelle in 2023, a concept album inspired by Quebec painter Jacques Hurtubise, with lyrics co-written by Ralph Elawani and Marinelli.
