THE VENICE FILM FESTIVAL WELCOMES THE IMMERSIVE WORKS OF HUBBLO!

Hubblo is proud to announce that several of its virtual reality experiences will be showcased by XN Québec as part of the 82nd edition of the Venice International Film Festival, taking place from August 27 to September 3, 2025.
The works :
The East Sea
From the Mekong to the St. Lawrence, three generations, one family, a uprooted forest.
The East Sea is a VR experience that takes you on an imaginary journey from Vietnam to Canada. An exile, one family, three generations. From the East Sea to the Saint-Lawrence river, from one shore to another, names and words change while water keeps flowing and life continues its course. Like the flow of a river, time cannot be reversed. But new trees can be planted, new forests can be grown.
Through my personal journey and our collaborative work, the intention is to create a story that allows the audience to experience each generation from the inside. An immersion into the imagination of a family that, in some ways, becomes less and less Vietnamese.

The Delights
A virtual reality soup kitchen
The Delights is an interactive virtual reality work created from 360-degree videos filmed in a soup kitchen in Québec. As participants, we are invited to engage with the community through an immersive experience within two interconnected spaces: the projection area and the headset, where different levels of reality intertwine.
Through fleeting yet captivating encounters, a poetic map of lived experiences gradually takes shape. Like a decal transferred from one space to another, interactions are recorded and simultaneously translated into luminous, colorful imprints, emerging from the intersections between individuals. The accumulated data from all visitors over time illuminates moments that are both shared, essential, and extraordinary—reminding us of the connections that unite us all.
Joseph Rouleau : final encore
The narrative, reconstructed through several interviews, reveals to us not only the artist but also the man behind the image.
Joseph Rouleau: Last Call is an immersive animated biopic based on the archives of opera singer Joseph Rouleau. Through a posthumous conversation with director Émilie Rosas, the work aims to dust off the world of opera and reveal Joseph Rouleau, a great pioneer of Quebec opera. The installation tells his story by revisiting his personal archives, memoirs and greatest solos.

Murmuration
A fable about migration
murmuration invites us to meet Kanope, a young Nigerian on his way to Europe. In a clever tale between fable and dream, Kanope reaches out to us and draws us into his hopeful journey. Inspired by real-life stories, the narrative is told by minor migrants who arrived in Sicily between 2015 and 2020. A shocking dive into humanity.
